What Does it Mean to Be the Light?

When the Light obliterates darkness; only Truth remains.

All we truly have is the Light, the inner knowing that quietly reveals the truth of who we are. It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t demand. It simply is. And continues, steady and radiant beneath all the noise.

Trusting ourselves, really trusting that inner Light, is perhaps the greatest challenge for a soul abused, wounded, or silenced. Especially for the sensitive, the empathic, and the spiritually open. Reclaiming that trust is revolutionary, especially when others taught you to doubt your truth in favor of their illusions.

But now is the time. Now we are called to trust ourselves more than we trust the projections of a world built on distortion. We must see through the glamor of those profiting from our confusion and return to what is quietly, eternally real.

There is immense power in claiming who you authentically are, without apology and without spiraling into doubt. Don’t lean on someone else’s vision of you. Don’t shrink to fit the frame they offer. Being authentic is not just about revealing yourself to the world; it’s about facing and embracing all parts of who you are — every shadow, every brilliance, every truth.

And as you accept yourself, as you see yourself clearly, your Light grows. It brightens. It strengthens.

Because you are the Light.

The gift of the Light is that it reveals the Truth.

As a divine being radiating into the world, you are the flame that exposes what cannot survive in the open. Corruption, greed, and deception — these forces thrive in darkness. But the Light dissolves what is false. It brings clarity, and with it, liberation.

When you focus on your light, you see your power. The greatest power you possess is your authenticity. To be true to yourself is not a minor act; it is a force that awakens the heart of humanity. That Light, your Light, is infectious. It inspires others to look within, to remember.

People have taught us to believe lies instead of our own intuition. And here’s the miracle: the Truth doesn’t need your belief to be real. Air doesn’t need you to believe it exists to fill your lungs. The sunlight doesn’t ask for worship to rise each day. The oak tree and the river don’t need your permission to exist.

Truth is the same. It exists without defense, without justification. It needs no champion, no cause, no temple, nor savior. It simply is.

Lies require effort. People must uphold, repeat, believe, and reinforce lies. But Truth stands on its own. It always has. It always will.

Once we see the Truth, nothing can hide it from the world.

Return to the Light within you. Trust it to always show you the Truth. Let it guide you home; not to what the world says you should be, but to what you’ve always been.

Experiencing the Power of Your Spirit Guides

How to Feel The Presence Beyond the Veil

In a world where misinformation is rampant, spiritual teachers can be compromised, and religions seem out of touch, having insight and guidance you can trust above all others is imperative. To get the guidance we seek, spiritual people need to have a deep and clear connection to their Spirit Guides.

Spirit Guides are beings of infinite love and wisdom who only desire to help you with anything you wish. You can build upon your connection to them with some practice, patience and a very bit of discipline. Through these things, you can build a connection with Spirit you can trust.

The most important thing to remember is that you can do this no matter how psychic or spiritual you are, what beliefs you hold, or how you live your life.

You do not have to be sensitive, devotional or even spiritual to get the gifts of wisdom, insight, and protection Spirit Guides offer.

I’ve spent 20+ years teaching people how to understand the ways to receive spiritual guidance from their very own teacher. Early in my journey, I learned with books and a few human teachers until the day my Spirit Guides gently yet firmly redirected me. They told me from that point on that they would be my only teachers. Since that moment, every insight I’ve shared and every word I’ve written has flowed from their wisdom.

You may have wondered whether you’ve truly felt your Guides’ presence. Perhaps you’ve questioned if that fleeting warmth or sudden knowing was real or just imagination. Spirit communicates in ways we can learn to recognize. One of the most immediate and verifiable ways to get their message is through the wisdom of the body.

The Body as a Sacred Receiver

One can doubt thoughts. One can dismiss visions. But when Spirit touches the physical body, the experience carries a weight that bypasses the skeptical mind. A tingle along the skin, a pressure at the crown of the head, or a wave of warmth in the chest. These are the signals that show the presence of the unseen.

I remember the first time my Guides made their presence undeniably known. A light tickle brushed my cheek as if a feather had grazed it. No breeze stirred the room. No physical cause explained it. In that moment, I understood this was their language, their way of saying, “We are here.”

An Invitation to Direct Experience

To begin with, find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, allowing your awareness to settle into your body. There is no need to strain or force anything. Arrive in the stillness and focus on how your body feels at the moment.

Then, inwardly, speak to your Spirit Guide. Focus on just one Guide to keep the energy clear. Ask silently or aloud, “I ask my Guide and only my Guide to give me a physical sign of your presence. Let me feel you are with me now.”

After making your request, return your focus to your body. Resist the urge to analyze or expect. You could experience subtle pressure, warmth, or a wave of positive emotion.

If the signal feels faint, ask again for greater clarity. If it feels overwhelming, request gentleness. This is a conversation you take part in.

If you felt nothing, you still made progress. Even if nothing arises today, you have opened the way. Offer gratitude. End every attempt at connection with gratitude.

Why Gratitude Matters

Gratitude is the bridge that strengthens connection. Even when the senses seem silent, the energy of appreciation opens the way for deeper communion later.

Some people receive unmistakable physical confirmation on their first try. Others feel nothing they notice. Noticing Spirit’s touch can be hard, especially if you’re not used to paying attention to subtle sensations; it takes practice. Be patient. The more you engage in this way, the more attuned you will become.

The Path Forward

This simple exercise is a doorway. Once you learn to recognize your Guide’s energetic signature, you will notice their presence in other ways. You may see their hand in synchronicities, feel them in intuitive nudges, or know them in that quiet certainty that arises when you least expect it.

Remember that the most important teacher is already with you. You need only learn their language.

Let it Happen

The quiet wisdom of the soul wishes to speak

Let it happen. Follow that soft voice of intuition. Give yourself the gift of delicious moments of reflection to wake up the slumbering wisdom within.

The doubts flood your mind. So loud, so insistent. The mind screams but the certainty of intuition whispers. These whispers are so soft you don’t even notice them. Quiet insights differ from the constant mental chatter that blocks your wisdom.

Giving your thoughts a bit of rest, just a little breathing room, will help allow your intuition to have a moment to be noticed. Meditation is unnecessary, nor is any kind of formal or structured practice. Taking the time to be settled within awakens intuition. Being quiet for just a minute. Be quiet, any place and under any circumstance. One minute of quiet to relax the anxiousness of the mind. One minute of peace to allow yourself to connect with your inner being.

Your mental chaos will always be there. You can give it a break for a minute. When you do that, you can listen to your soul. Intuition is the wisdom of the soul. Intuition is the sweet whisper from the one who knows all you have been through. It remembers things you do not. The entire journey of your soul throughout the ages and into the future. All you have done in ancient times, in various realities, throughout the history of the universe. Your soul is an ancient being of light, experiencing all that is extraordinary about this world. While it remembers your connection to the stars, to distant planets, and ancient civilizations. And most profoundly, your soul knows your connection to the Earth and the Divine.

Intuition is your warning system, sensing when things do not feel right or safe. It knows when you should take a different route, avoid certain places to steer you away from harm. Intuition also reminds you of what you need to do for your well-being. It tells you when you should reach out to others and even shows you the future.

Your intuition is the most accurate predictor and advisor you’ll ever find. No technology available now or in the future can match that.

Taking a moment of quiet is like opening the door and inviting your intuition in. Perhaps you have ignored it, doubted it, or shunned it until now. Be patient. It may be shy and take some continued efforts of quiet to walk through that door and know it is welcome. It is worth however long it takes. A minute of peace, silence, or quiet every so often encourages your wisdom to share what it knows.

Once that happens, life becomes extraordinary.

What Spirituality Means to Me

When no religion or belief system fits, what does it mean to be spiritual?

Photo by Amer Mughawish on Unsplash

For me, spirituality has nothing to do with God, or devotion, or being of service. Instead, it is about being the most authentic version of myself.

The ‘me’ without the pain of traumas or triggers. The ‘me’ free from the mistakes of my past. The ‘me’ without concern about or censure from others and how they view me.

My spirituality teaches me to be who I am without apology or fear of being punished by those who disapprove. For this reason, spirituality has given me freedom in its truest sense.

No matter what happens in my life, I am free to be me. The joy of that freedom is a thread that runs through me and is always present.

My spiritual path is a spiraling inward journey; it plunges me deep into my soul, freeing what’s held captive. To me, spirituality has been my savior, my liberator and my way out of the self-inflicted torture of the mind.

My mind held me captive by using judgment, fear, guilt, and shame. These have kept my heart and the truth of who I am subjugated in thrall. Unable to express myself and even fearing knowing myself, I held my heart at bay.

I grew to fear my power, my knowing, and my soul. My first step on my spiritual path was to get to know my heart. And later I understood that the heart, in its true wisdom, is a portal to the soul and the soul connects to Divinity.

Once my soul awakened, the heavens opened, and I got to know my authentic self. Truth was not a painful experience filled with trauma and fear. My heart had wisdom I previously ignored. And when the Grace of Divinity guides the way, the path is clear.

The treasures within are abundant and still being discovered. Yet now that I may have access to Love, Truth and Grace I can find as many gifts as I wish.

Can Science Prove God Exists?

Science can explore the wonders of the universe, why can’t it prove the afterlife is real?

Science unlocks the mysteries of the wonders of the world. Scientific minds explore the universe to find cures for all that ails us and have the answers to all that confounds us. Even more importantly, scientific discoveries guide us into a future of possibilities. Science makes the physical world less of a mystery and more of a partner as humanity grows to fulfill its potential.

But there is one thing science cannot discover; no matter how earnestly it looks. And no matter how advanced the tools are, science will never prove that Spirit exists. It cannot prove the existence of an afterlife, the soul, God, or Spirit. That is not within its power.

Science will search to the edges of the universe and never find God.

Why not?

Spirit lives in the non-physical world, known as the metaphysical world, where science cannot reach. Spirit dwells in a place where the tools of physical sciences are useless. Only the hearts of seekers, mystics, seers, and casually curious individuals like you can unveil the realm of Spirit.

One must seek proof of Spirit through one’s own heart. Your connection to all that is metaphysical is through the portal known as the heart.

Getting to know your own heart is getting to know what science cannot. Within the heart is where the soul communicates with our mind. Within the heart is where we connect to our intuition. Within the heart, Divinity meets our being. We need not be pure, ascended, or awakened to know God, Divinity or Spirit.

Through a simple technique, we can find the Divine within and discover that which science shall never see. We are never without the guidance we seek. We only need to sit still for a moment to receive the wisdom of the Divine mind. I offer here a short meditation practice to open the connection between your heart and your mind. This will open a way for Divinity to make itself known to you. It will take time and patience. I find doing this a few times a week is effective. Yet, you can do it every day if you like.

Take a moment to get comfortable. Then settle and center your energy by taking three long deep breaths in the nose and following with a long exhale out of the mouth. People commonly refer to these as cleansing breaths. Then, with your eyes closed, start circular breathing, in and out of the nose in a gentle rhythm. Tune in to how that feels. Take a moment to check the comfort of your body and watch the natural rhythm of your breath. Once you feel settled, notice how your heart feels.

Tune in to your emotional body, your heart, by checking with your heart center. To do this, you can imagine a light at the center of your chest or place a hand on your chest to focus your attention there. If it feels unsettled, take a moment to focus on peace.

Giving attention to the feeling of peace calms your energy so you can have a clear connection. If you have trouble getting a sense of peace in your heart, wait a few moments and do some gentle breathing in and out of your nose. If you still feel unsettled, compete the meditation and try again the next day. Each day, it will become easier with a bit of patience and practice.

If you can feel the peace of the heart center, sit for a moment with it. It feels wonderful to be in the presence of peace. Take as long as you like here.

Now that you have peace, you can ask a question. Ask your heart a question about what is troubling you, what worries you, or for help with what is frustrating you. You can ask a question such as, “what can I do about my job?” Then sit for a moment, just waiting. Do not think of an answer. Be present with the question and just wait. Be in silence to allow for the answer to appear or emerge. It could come as a feeling, a nudge, an image or a color. It could even come as a thought or a phrase. The important thing is to allow it to come without cluttering your mind with guesses.

You can ask any type of question you like. The only rule is that your question is about you, not another. Asking if someone else will do something or what they are thinking causes trouble for reasons I will not get in to here. Keep the focus on getting wisdom, help and guidance for you and only you. This is a moment for your benefit.

Once you ask, sit and wait for about a minute. After a minute, complete the meditation by taking a deep breath in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Then make a note of what came in and go on with your day.

The important thing about this meditation is doing this meditation. Even if you got nothing, it still worked. You opened a path to wisdom. The answers may come later in the day, in a dream, or while you are doing a rote task. Over time, the answers will become easier, clearer, and you may not even need to do the meditation to get them. Being patient with this practice and disciplined enough to devote a few times a week to it is all you need.

Know that Spirit is not loud. The loud, insistent voice in your mind comes from the ego. The knowledge of the Divine mind you were born with awakens in subtle ways. It is a wisp of a thought, a nudge, or a gentle feeling. The way of Spirit is always quiet.

Science is not the tool for spiritual exploration, but spiritual seekers do not need it as proof of God. We only need to get to know our own heart to know Divinity. Once we do this, many more miraculous discoveries await.
