Why Ascension Has Nothing to Do With Meditation

What the Ascended Masters Knew That Most Seekers Miss

Curiosity, wonder, awe, and appreciation are the gifts that activate awakening and ascension.

One can meditate for hours a day and never achieve either. Both remain elusive to anyone who pursues them as an achievement, because the point for most seekers is separation. To be apart from the world. Above those who struggle. Exalted, to mimic the perceived way of the Ascended Masters and Avatars of Divinity. Not to learn or grow, but to be above it all.

The truth is different. Awakening comes to those who question everything, and especially themselves. They aren’t searching for an exalted state. When they encounter someone different from themselves, they don’t reject or fear that person. They meet them with curiosity, honor, and respect, across cultures, lifestyles, appearance, all of it.

Approach the world in that manner and pursue the mysteries of the universe with reverence and awe, and satisfaction will follow.

Ascension doesn’t come from deep meditative states. It comes from living fully in the world. The Ascended Masters mastered life. They understood how to move through its beauty and power, through great sorrows, grief, hardship, and tragedy, and through all of it, they gained wisdom. Implementing that wisdom, they discovered they had always held the key. To live by their own choosing, in humility and with great power. You cannot become an Ascended Master without a deep understanding of yourself and of the greater power beyond the veil.

I mentioned at the start that awakening and ascension come from these four powers. I return to them now to reinforce: if you seek to overcome suffering, trauma, grief, and hardship, bring curiosity, wonder, awe, and appreciation into your daily life. They will guide you to the wisdom and truth you’re looking for.

Curiosity

Take nothing at face value. Always ask why.

Why are things this way? Why is my life the way it is? How does my situation serve me? What do I want?

There are millions of questions available to you every day, each one capable of illuminating your understanding. Remember: if you don’t ask, you won’t get the answer. Awakening requires a curious mind and an inexhaustible supply of questions.

Wonder

Wonder holds the energy of acceptance and expands it. The world opens its beauty to those who can look at it fresh each day. Wonder releases expectation and opens the path to new experiences, knowledge, and wisdom. It places you fully in the present, free from the burdens of the past and the fears of the future.

Sit in wonder of the world you live in, and she will reveal even more as you awaken.

Awe

Feeling the blessings of nature, the universe, and your own miraculous connection to them, ascends consciousness toward the divine like no other spiritual practice can.

Be in awe of your existence the way you’re in awe of the cosmos and the waterfall. Be in awe of all life. Revere it. Seek to support life in all that you do.

Appreciation

Appreciation is more than gratitude. It is the knowing that all things have purpose, even when that purpose hides from you. You can honor something without understanding it. Appreciation holds both respect and gratitude together.

Consider a mistake from your past. If instead of regret you could appreciate it, you could be at peace with it. Peace with your past brings you more powerfully into the present, and in that presence, you bless your future.

If you are suffering, in sorrow, in grief, or simply feeling sad, take a moment to appreciate what you’re moving through. Give those feelings respect and gratitude. Doing so allows you to receive the wisdom they’re trying to teach you. Once you’ve received it, those feelings no longer need to persist.

All things have a purpose. All your feelings and difficulties have a purpose. Use appreciation to find it and find peace.

Curiosity, wonder, awe, and appreciation are not practices you schedule into your day. They are ways of moving through the world. As you embody them, you find that awakening and ascension are not distant destinations, but the natural result of a life fully and consciously lived. The masters were ordinary people. Not chosen by divine forces. They were special because they chose, every day, to engage life with open eyes and an open heart.

Just as you may.
