The Surprising Thing Spirit Guides Really Want to Teach You

Spirit operates in mysterious ways, frequently defying our beliefs. So how do we make sense of that? We start by trying to understand Spirit from their point of view. Not from fear. Not from hierarchy. But from Truth.

When we work with Spirit, we’re not submitting to authority; we connect to the highest level of consciousness available to us. We are awakening. We are expanding. We are stepping into who we really are.

Working with Spirit means letting go. Letting go of what you thought “should” be. Letting go of inherited ideas. Letting go of control.

Soul evolution does not happen when we cling tightly to outdated paradigms. It happens when we are willing to see things as they actually are, not just how we wish they were.

I teach spirituality, but what I truly specialize in is helping people work with Spirit Guides. One reason I began this work is simple. I wanted to know the secrets of the universe by accessing divine wisdom. I wanted to understand everything from esoteric truths to the evolution of human consciousness.

Deep in my bones, I knew that if I could communicate with my Guides, I could access that knowledge. And I was right. Kind of.

When I started asking my Guides questions, I noticed something interesting. Sometimes they answered, and sometimes they didn’t. Especially for questions about the future. That used to frustrate me until I realized a deeper truth.

Spirit’s entire mission is to empower us. Not to fix us. Not to command us. But to help us grow. Their guidance is not there to make us dependent. It is there to remind us of our own strength.

Spirit Guides offer healing, insight, and clarity, but only in ways that uplift us, stretch our perspective, or help us align more fully with our soul’s truth.

And here is what that means in real life. You are in charge of your life. Not Spirit. Not God. Not angels.

Yes, you can receive help and guidance. But Spirit will not run your life for you. Giving up your power is the opposite of growth. That is the deeper meaning behind spiritual empowerment.

Many people come to spirituality believing they are “answering a calling.” But after decades of working with Spirit, I can tell you something important. There is no calling. Spirit does not select a chosen few. They do not crown prophets. They do not tell you that you are “the one.”

You choose this path, then Spirit simply meets you where you are.

We often have such a backwards view of spirituality that it ends up disempowering us. People believe Spirit is their boss. They believe God is counting their every sin. They believe angels will dictate their choices.

But that is not how Spirit works. Spirit Guides, Angels, Gods, and Goddesses are not here to control you. They are here to assist you. To walk beside you. To lift you up when you forget who you are.

Through religious conditioning, we learned divine beings should tell us what to do, how to act, and how to live. That belief is a real problem. It strips us of the very things we were born with: agency, desire, and free will.

Therefore, people often ask, “If God is real, why is the world the way it is?” The answer is that we are the creators of how we live on Earth, not God.

Children are starving not because of divine failure, but because we have created systems that allow that to happen. But just as we created those systems, we can change them. We can build something better. And Spirit will help us do it.

Spirit Guides are with us to co-create heaven on Earth. But we must ask. We must take part. Do not wait for divine permission to be who we already are.

Even if you do not believe in God, you still have beliefs about what God is, what Spirit is, and about who has authority over your life.

If you want to grow spiritually, you need to examine those beliefs. Ask yourself: Do I think Spirit controls me? Do I feel powerless in my life? Do I believe in fate more than freedom?

Those quiet little assumptions often block the deep connection you are seeking. You don’t have to change them, but simply being aware of them will help you navigate overcoming them.

I have met so many kind, spiritual people who still feel like they have no power. No choice. No agency. They are waiting. Waiting for destiny to show up. Waiting for Spirit to give them a purpose. Waiting to see what their calling is.

But here is the Truth. Your calling is something you decide. You are the voice of Spirit, made manifest in a human life.

So, what is Spirit actually here to do? Spirit is here to help you become the highest and truest version of yourself. They are here to guide, not to govern. To partner with you, not overpower you. To reflect your own light, not dim or control it.

Every step of the way, they are whispering the same Truth. You have the power to choose. You have the power to create. You have the power to change the world.

Your empowerment is sacred to Spirit Guides. It is what will change the Earth into the place we all know it can become. Take them as your partners in life and then ask them for help as you follow your heart; you cannot go wrong.

How to Feel The Presence Beyond the Veil

In a world where misinformation is rampant, spiritual teachers can be compromised, and religions seem out of touch, having insight and guidance you can trust above all others is imperative. To get the guidance we seek, spiritual people need to have a deep and clear connection to their Spirit Guides.

Spirit Guides are beings of infinite love and wisdom who only desire to help you with anything you wish. You can build upon your connection to them with some practice, patience and a very bit of discipline. Through these things, you can build a connection with Spirit you can trust.

The most important thing to remember is that you can do this no matter how psychic or spiritual you are, what beliefs you hold, or how you live your life.

You do not have to be sensitive, devotional or even spiritual to get the gifts of wisdom, insight, and protection Spirit Guides offer.

I’ve spent 20+ years teaching people how to understand the ways to receive spiritual guidance from their very own teacher. Early in my journey, I learned with books and a few human teachers until the day my Spirit Guides gently yet firmly redirected me. They told me from that point on that they would be my only teachers. Since that moment, every insight I’ve shared and every word I’ve written has flowed from their wisdom.

You may have wondered whether you’ve truly felt your Guides’ presence. Perhaps you’ve questioned if that fleeting warmth or sudden knowing was real or just imagination. Spirit communicates in ways we can learn to recognize. One of the most immediate and verifiable ways to get their message is through the wisdom of the body.

The Body as a Sacred Receiver

One can doubt thoughts. One can dismiss visions. But when Spirit touches the physical body, the experience carries a weight that bypasses the skeptical mind. A tingle along the skin, a pressure at the crown of the head, or a wave of warmth in the chest. These are the signals that show the presence of the unseen.

I remember the first time my Guides made their presence undeniably known. A light tickle brushed my cheek as if a feather had grazed it. No breeze stirred the room. No physical cause explained it. In that moment, I understood this was their language, their way of saying, “We are here.”

An Invitation to Direct Experience

To begin with, find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, allowing your awareness to settle into your body. There is no need to strain or force anything. Arrive in the stillness and focus on how your body feels at the moment.

Then, inwardly, speak to your Spirit Guide. Focus on just one Guide to keep the energy clear. Ask silently or aloud, “I ask my Guide and only my Guide to give me a physical sign of your presence. Let me feel you are with me now.”

After making your request, return your focus to your body. Resist the urge to analyze or expect. You could experience subtle pressure, warmth, or a wave of positive emotion.

If the signal feels faint, ask again for greater clarity. If it feels overwhelming, request gentleness. This is a conversation you take part in.

If you felt nothing, you still made progress. Even if nothing arises today, you have opened the way. Offer gratitude. End every attempt at connection with gratitude.

Why Gratitude Matters

Gratitude is the bridge that strengthens connection. Even when the senses seem silent, the energy of appreciation opens the way for deeper communion later.

Some people receive unmistakable physical confirmation on their first try. Others feel nothing they notice. Noticing Spirit’s touch can be hard, especially if you’re not used to paying attention to subtle sensations; it takes practice. Be patient. The more you engage in this way, the more attuned you will become.

The Path Forward

This simple exercise is a doorway. Once you learn to recognize your Guide’s energetic signature, you will notice their presence in other ways. You may see their hand in synchronicities, feel them in intuitive nudges, or know them in that quiet certainty that arises when you least expect it.

Remember that the most important teacher is already with you. You need only learn their language.

A Gathering of Healing

There is a principle in healing that we cannot heal what we do not see. Old wounds come up at the perfect time to be healed. Every wound we try to forget and hide away unconsciously will, in time, reveal itself when we are ready to heal it. This is true with personal and collective consciousness.

After the initial pain of the revealing settles down, my spiritual practices help me come to a place of healing. By meditating and connecting with Spirit, I see my challenges as chances for growth. I use their energy and guidance to create a way forward that is life-affirming, soul-expanding, and transformational.

I would like to share with you the way I do this in harmony with the Healing Angels, Ancestors, Star Nations and Spirit Guides. With their help, it is easy to see the way forward is a way of power, of love, and of joy.

Mundane Tasks and Powerful Wisdom

Building communication and connection to Spirit can be a joyful experience!

I woke up at exactly 5:55am. Normally it would be an irritation to be awoken 5 minutes before my alarm went off, but on this day, it made me smile.

Let me explain.

It was the answer to a prayer. I had been working on connecting with Spirit. I read books on channeling Spirit Guides and Angels, and I read channeled materials from all the well-known psychic mediums. It seemed my desire to channel was out of reach because I didn’t have the ‘gift’. I practiced and prayed, and I got nothing.

Spirit Guides were an enigma to me, yet there wasn’t a time when I didn’t believe in their existence. It made sense to me that God wouldn’t send us to Earth without backup. I thought of them as beings who helped God make things easier for us. I knew they gave us protection and helped soothe us, but the most important gift they gave us is to remind us we are never alone.

This I knew in my heart as the foundational Truth of my soul.

I felt if I could get messages from them, my life would be so much easier. With hearing their wisdom, getting their insight and filled with their inspiration, my life would fall into place with ease. So, I set out on a quest to channel my Spirit Guide with the determination of one obsessed. I had the passion, the fortitude and the drive to make it happen. But, with no knowledge of how they operate or what they could do, naturally, I spent most of the time making all the mistakes of one unfamiliar with the ways of Spirit.

I became a master of how not to channel Spirit. I needed a break.

After taking a step back, I evaluated my intentions, let go of preconceived notions and other people’s beliefs. Then I finally got on the right track. The mysterious world of Spirit began to slowly and purposefully open before me. This happened because instead of beating myself up for not hearing them, not seeing them and not getting a message, I decided to ask them for favors.

I asked for things that would help me know they were there. I wanted to be sure that what I knew to be true was Truth. That is why I asked them to wake me up 5 minutes before my alarm when off. I made the ask of them before I went to sleep the night before. I spoke a silent prayer to my Spirit Guide and ONLY my Spirit Guide to wake me up 5 minutes before my alarm went off. When it happened, waking up to my clock at 5:55 was magical.

I was so happy and encouraged! I asked for more and more gifts, mundane and energetic. Asking for gifts of all types and interacting with Spirit on this playful level helped me to relax and receive more from them. Over time, I could communicate with them to the point of becoming an expert channel.

Through my journey of these and more powerful discoveries, they have taught me how they can help us and all the ways in which they can never help us. I have learned their Sacred Laws, their divine perspective, and what it is like in their heavenly world.

It is time to share all of it!

But first, I offer you a challenge. Ask them to wake you up a few minutes before your alarm is set. Be sure to be specific. Ask for your Spirit Guide and ONLY your Spirit Guide to wake you up at a specific time or 5 minutes before your alarm goes off. You need to ask specifically for your Spirit Guide to do this so that no other being or entity interferes with this process. Those of you sensitive to supernatural activity are especially in need of this intention to be clear. We don’t want any negative energy to answer the call to wake you. You only want the divine being known as your Spirit Guide to do this.

What if it doesn’t work? No problem. Think of this as an experiment. If it doesn’t work, ask again the next night. If it still doesn’t work, evaluate your beliefs. If you do not at least think there is a possibility that Spirit can do this, then it may not work. The reason being is that your Spirit Guide honors your beliefs and will do nothing to override what you believe to be true. It is part of the Sacred Laws I mentioned above. Aside from your beliefs, there are other reasons it may not work.

What are Spirit Guides, What Do Spirit Guides Do and Where are They?

We come into this world with helpers from before we take our first breath until we take our last breath we have Spirit Guides to assist us in every way they can. They are angels, ascended masters, messengers, ancestors, and star beings. Most of us have many guides and many types of guides. Some guides are with us our whole lives and some come into our lives and leave our lives as our life path changes.

Spirit Guides do not exist in this reality, they exist in another reality, dimension, or realm. They are not like ghosts that are living in the human world. Instead, they are in their realm offering guidance through a means of communication we don’t truly comprehend. They live outside this world and all its limitations. From their realms, they can access us any place and anytime in our existence to help. They live outside of time. They live outside of the limitations of space. Therefore they can be anywhere and everywhere at once. They are with us at all times.

They communicate with us through various means. Sometimes telepathically, sometimes through feelings (physical or emotional), sometimes through visions or images in our minds, sometimes through a voice or words in our heads; and sometimes through the physical world by conveying their message through songs on the radio, overheard conversations in public, animal appearances and so on.

It is very rare for Spirit Guides to show up in the physical world or that we hear them with our physical ear. When they do it is similar to a hologram, like projecting their image into this reality. This is a very rare event and most people never experience this, because the guides must follow the sacred laws. One of which is to never cause fear and other is to not interfere with your life.

Not causing fear means they must always be mindful to keep their presence within the boundaries of what you can accept. Therefore they are respectful and gentle and their presence is known to you by means of subtle communications, hints, nudges, and signs. A big part of what you experience with your guides is up to how open you are to their help.

Not interfering means that the guides cannot help you without your request. You must ask for help in order to get help. They cannot magically make your life better unless you ask and are willing and open to this occurring. Our doubts and fears keep us from being fully open to their assistance. Our guides can make our lives so much easier if we ask them for help. From finding a parking space to landing that great job our guides can help us in big and small ways if we are to ask. We do not need to be a great channel in order to get help from our guides, they will help us whether we can hear them or see them or not.

There is also no bargaining energy with your guides. You do not need to be good, or make a deal, or do anything that you think will please them in order for them to help you. You just need to be willing to receive the help. The energy of treating your guides with respect, reverence and gratitude will go a long way to open you up to get more from them, yet, it is not for their sake that this helps but for yours. Your guides will never punish you or stop helping you for any reason ever.

There are times when we feel the guides are not around us or not communicating with us. These can be times when they are allowing us to go through changes or transitions and making choices on our own. But they are always available to help us even when they feel far away.

Guides are here to help us through their wisdom, their specialties, and experience. Some people have healer guides, some people have artist guides, some people have teacher guides, and so on. Yet all guides have access to all the mysteries of the universe! And so do we! The limitation we have for understanding all the mysteries of the universe is our own curiosity (or lack of curiosity).

When we dedicate ourselves to the practice of communicating with the guides we get more: more help, more guidance, more love, more insight, more from them and more from life.

The Attraction Force of FEAR

More and more people are telling me they want to connect with Spirit and in the same moment asking me if connecting with Guides is ‘safe’. People are telling me they are concerned about alien invasions, demonic possession, entity attachments and the like. There is a lot of bad information about these topics. There is an extra ordinary amount of fear running around about the the unseen having the power to control people with a sinister and evil design.

The power of some unseen force is not in the entity to fear – the attraction force of the fear itself is what keeps us hypnotized and what we should truly be aware of. We are naturally attracted to fear. Our ego loves it. Fear creates drama. It keeps us occupied. It takes a lot of energy and attention. Why do we love horror movies, scary stories and urban myths? Our ego can stay in control over our actions so easily if we are in fear. If we fear ‘others’ then Spirit, Spirit Guides even our own higher spiritual aspect will not be able to communicate with us. The ego loves that. If we allow our higher consciousness to be be our true guide then our ego no longer controls our actions and loses it’s power. And we have been so powerless against our ego for so long that allowing Spirit to guide us seems the scariest, and most difficult thing of all.

Being empowered and recognizing that when we fear something it is an illusion is the greatest task any spiritual seeker has to accomplish. But how can we do this? How can we let go of the drama we love? How can we believe that no one, no thing, no entity, no global crisis, alien invasion, demonic possession or world order has any power over us? We have been believing all our lives that there is something, always, to fear. We are invested in fear emotionally, financially, mentally and even spiritually. We are told to fear God, poverty, big government, corporations and demons.

Take a moment to imagine that all of those things have no power over you. Take a moment to accept that even God cannot control your actions. Your actions, your thoughts, your perceptions are entirely your own. There is no power greater than your will. How does that feel? Does it feel even scarier than allowing the outside forces to have influence over you? Would you rather have something to fear? If not you are the exception.

Spirit cannot guide us when our ego is in the driver seat. It is as simple as that. And ego uses fear to remain in control. Fear must be in place for us to be manipulated and controlled. Ego is over-powered in our consciousness. Ego’s tool for control is fear. A healthy use of ego is as an identifying factor. Ego is a gift that helps us to recognize how we fit in in the scheme of things. It helps us know who we are. Yet if we allow ego to overrun our life experience through its power hungry system of fear then we become a slave to it. And we cannot be a slave to ego and serve Spirit. It is impossible. Yet things that make us fearful have an attraction force that is almost irresistible. Almost irresistible.

The simplest way to begin your journey to serve Spirit and be free from fear is to recognize when something arouses fear in you. Imaging your worst fear and taking a moment to greet it. Acknowledge its existence. Thank it for teaching you about yourself. Ask yourself how this fear has served you. How has it benefited you by holding on to it? Then dismiss your fear with gratitude. Then ask your guides to help you be in service to the highest good, ask them to help you let go of your fear to find your faith and ultimately your freedom. Do this as often as necessary and you will find that each day will be an awakening to the Divine.

Freedom opens the pathway to all creation, all power and Love. Fear negates all creation, all power and Love.

May you find the freedom that is your birthright.
